World Migratory Bird Day, AquaMeridian Beach Cleanup

On October 11, our AquaMeridian volunteers gathered at Seaplane Lagoon for a special beach cleanup in celebration of World Migratory Bird Day — a global reminder to protect the habitats that countless birds depend on throughout their incredible journeys.

Post-Cleanup Reflection

It was a day to connect with nature, give back to the community, and nurture our shared sense of purpose. Thank you to every volunteer who joined us in making a tangible difference for the coast, the wildlife, and our planet.

While sorting through the photos, we were once again struck by how much trash was hidden between the rocks along the shore — all pushed back by the waves. Plastic fragments, wrappers, and even tires kept washing up again and again. Protecting the coastline is truly an effort that requires persistence and teamwork.

A big shoutout to everyone who’s joined our cleanups — your dedication keeps this movement alive. Let’s keep the momentum going and continue protecting our Bay together.
