April 11 Beach Cleanup Recap — Rain or Shine, We Showed Up

April 11, 2026 | Alameda Shoreline We started the morning in the rain and wind, but people still showed up.

The weather kept changing — rain, a little sunshine, then rain again — but people just kept going.

Post-Cleanup Reflection

We picked up a lot in just a couple of hours. One thing we notice almost every time are these Styrofoam-filled tires along the shoreline. It’s frustrating to keep seeing them, but also a reminder of why these cleanups matter.

To thank everyone for braving the weather, we had a small surprise — sea animal plushies tucked inside papier-mâché eggs. A little moment of fun and surprise after a tough morning. Hope you enjoyed the treat!
