Giant Kelp S.O.S.

AquaMeridian’s Successful Collaboration with Giant Giant Kelp Restoration Project (G2KR), Shine4Love Teens Club, and Fremont Main Library

We are deeply honored to host this collaborative event with G2KR, the Shines4Love Teens Club, and the Fremont Main Library. Over the past five years, Mr. Keith Rootsaert, the leader of G2KR and a passionate advocate for Monterey Kelp Restoration, has been my dive buddy, supporting and assisting me in all of my scientific research dives. Now, we come together to educate our local children, raise awareness about the vanishing California kelp forests.

The event was a huge success, with Mr. Keith's engaging presentation featuring live urchins, a interactive fish identification game, and crafts to make urchin tests into living art with air plants. This family-oriented event was educational, entertaining, and inspirational, as the kids and the adults learned about the power of volunteering in helping to save kelp.
