Community Shines at Our Sea of Change Booth
On April 27, AquaMeridian brought the ocean to the Farmers Market with our vibrant "Sea of Change" pop-up booth!
Our goal was simple: spark conversations about ocean conservation and eco-living, promote our May 10th beach cleanup. We were thrilled by how many folks stopped by, their thoughtful messages really connected with our mission!
We turned a regular pop-up tent into an ocean-inspired experience: with shimmering blue streamers, eye-catching posters, eco pledge boards, homemade lollipops, fun conservation stickers, and tons of colorful sticky notes.
Our booth drew a steady stream of ocean fans — from toddlers with crayons to grandparents with wise words. Everyone had something to say, and we loved it!. In just a few hours, we collected over 60 heartfelt notes — from thoughtful pledges to playful fish doodles — all proudly displayed on our growing Sea of Change wall.
Despite the chilly, cloudy morning, our student leaders kept the energy high from 8:30 AM to 1:00 PM, spreading warmth with their big smiles, passionate conversations, and love for the ocean. Our booth quickly became a highlight of the Farmers Market, showing just how powerful community connection can be.
We also want to give a special shoutout to our Sustainability Officer, Xiaohan. He’s been with us since our very first beach cleanup back in 2023, when he was just a 7th grader. Now in 9th grade, he’s stepped into a key leadership role—supporting event logistics and outreach, from helping promote events to managing and storing all our cleanup gear. His dedication and energy continue to inspire our team.
Alongside Xiaohan’s leadership, we’re thrilled to officially welcome two new members to our Student Leadership Council: Maggie and Emrick! Both have been incredible supporters of AquaMeridian’s mission, and Emrick has especially been a regular face at many of our events this past year. Their dedication and teamwork really shined at the booth.
A huge thank you to everyone who stopped by to share a message, leave a drawing, or just say hi. Every small gesture adds up, and with all of us pitching in, we're sparking meaningful change!
We’d love for you to join us at our next Sea of Change booth! The location will be different and the time is still being finalized — feel free to reach out at aquam.foundation@gmail.com if you’re interested!
