9/20 International Coastal Cleanup & Student Voices Program

Join us at Alameda Seaplane Lagoon for a day of service, community, and student leadership!

Program Schedule

9:30–10:00 AM → Coffee Social & volunteer check-in 

  • Teens pick up wristbands (required for lunch participation)

  • Club presenters pick up name badges

  • Coffee & pastries sponsored by Almanac Beer Co., with pastries from Firebrand Bread

  • Almanac table with brand showcase

  • Student clubs may display flyers

  • Group photo with all club banners together

10:00–12:00 PM → Beach Cleanup

  • Collect and sort trash.

  • Group photo with collected debris  

  • Wrap up tools and bring debris to the dumpster.

12:10–12:40 PM → Pizza lunch (sponsored by Almanac Beer Co.)

  • Free for all students (with wristbands)

  • Adults cover their own lunch

  • Everyone receives 2 drink tickets (valid for all beverages, including non-alcoholic options for under 21)

12:40–1:40 PM → VOICES OF STUDENT LEADERSHIP Presentations

Guest Speaker → Liz Taylor, President of DOER Marine, deep ocean researcher and scientist

Club Presentations:

  1. AquaMeridian — 3 Years of Action + Stepping Up: A Student’s Story

  2. ACSEF Student Leadership Board — STEM leadership & community building

    • How student leadership builds responsibility, communication, and confidence

    • How teamwork connects students across schools into a stronger STEM community

  3. Kindness Matters (KMI) AI Storytelling Club — Creativity + AI + Social Impact

    • A nonprofit inspiring students through creative writing and AI technology

    • From in-person classes to an online storybook platform

  4. Shine4Love Teens Club → Student-run & volunteer projects

    • Students lead the club’s growth through community service initiatives and vibrant multicultural events.

    • How these experiences foster youth communication, leadership skills, and a strong sense of teamwork.

  5. Shine4Love Art Department – Making Waves

    • Why small acts of care can create a huge impact.

    • How entrepreneurial projects help youth grow and support their community.

  6. Alameda High School → Local community collaboration & personal growth

    • How individual students create impact in their community.

    • What they’ve learned and how they’ve grown through service.

  7. Faye (AquaMeridian founder, ACSEF alumna) → Beyond high school: Summer internship reflection, how a service mindset shaped her career vision and inspired her to contribute back to her community

1:40–1:55 PM → Closing Remarks & Group Photo, taken outside the event room. All club invited to raise their banner
