Come Clean the Shore, Share a Meal, and Grow as a Leader

This September, join students from across Alameda County for a day of cleanup, cookout, and a real talk about leadership.

We'll start on the beach — grab some gloves and help clean up Seaplane Lagoon. Then we'll head over to Almanac Adventureland & Brewery for pizza and a chance to hear from student leaders, youth climate advocates, and a sustainability exec from New York about how they got started — and where you could go too.

Schedule

• 10:00 – 11:45 AM — Beach Cleanup, volunteer check-in start at 9:45 AM
  Seaplane Lagoon Promenade, 1801 Ferry Point, Alameda, CA 94501
  Join fellow students in a hands-on cleanup of our local shoreline.

• 11:45 AM – 12:00 PM — Wrap Up & Head to Almanac Adventureland & Brewery 
  Drop off collected trash at the dumpster area, help pack up the cleanup site, then join our volunteers for a short guided walk over to Almanac Adventureland & Brewery Taproom。

• 12:00 – 12:40 PM — Community Lunch Free for all registered students
  Lunch generously provided by Almanac Adventureland & Brewery.

• 12:40 – 1:10 PM — Student Club Spotlight
  Selected student clubs take the mic to share their work over lunch. (Want your club to present? Apply below!)

• 1:10 PM — Fireside Panel: Voices of Leadership

⏱️ General Volunteers — Earn 4 service hours for the full event, from morning beach cleanup to the afternoon forum.

🎤 Club Presenters — Earn 6 service hours, covering the beach cleanup, afternoon forum, presentation prep, and travel time.

The morning beach cleanup runs on volunteer power. We’d love to have you join us on the shoreline and help clean up Seaplane Lagoon Promenade.

Got a student club doing great work in your school or community? This is your chance to share it with a room full of student leaders, educators, and sustainability professionals.

We're now accepting applications from local student clubs who want to present during our lunch session. Tell us about your club and what you're working on — 5 to 7 clubs will be selected to take the stage based on overall fit with the forum. Applications close soon, so don't wait — apply today!
